Ganesha is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles and more generally as Lord of Beginnings and Lord of Obstacles (Vighnesha, Vighneshvara), patron of arts and sciences, and the god of intellect and wisdom. He is honored at the beginning of rituals and ceremonies and invoked as Patron of Letters during writing sessions.

It seems that there is a lot of importance to what the piece represents, and yet, not so much emphasis about it, unlike your other work. The history tells a story about the item, but the photo..

nice capture. i agree with just about everything said above. the colors, the contrast, very nice. maybe, if you were lower that'd be cool....make it so that it looks as if the creature is coming towards us
