Little country church made out of some kind of stone. We have a lot of limestone here, but I don't know if that is what the stone is. I thought it quite picturesque.
Carol, it looks like the snow is finally melting in Iowa. Congratulations on surviving another winter in the Mid-west. One way I can tell this is Iowa -- brown grass.
I like everything about this posting. The subject is simple and beautiful, the colors are springlike (except for that grass), the leafless background trees are perfectly focused, and you've captured the texture of the stone. The colors are subdued except for the blue sky which looks great. I'm sure that somebody who knows more about composition can tell you if the building should be centered, if there should be less sky and more foreground; but it looks great to me.
Carol This is a beautiful old stone church! The surroundings make for a wonderful picture with the trees and nice blue sky! I am starting to forget what a blue sky looks like! very nice image. Paul
A lovely capture of the church and surroundings. Nice composition, colours and lighting in your photo. I like the old water pump by the door, I haven't seen one of those in years.
Excellent composition and focus. I can see why it captured your attention. Structure seems simple, solid and well cared for. The curve of the drive adds a nice lead in.
Great colours and very nice focus and DOF in this shot.Plus very nice angle you took the photo from as well. The rows of trees and blue sky really brings the building forward in this photo.Very chocolate boxes looking photography well done.
Hello Carol.....This is a very clear shot showing plenty of detail in the quaint church...It looks very isolated, but I am certain it must be close to a community....Well done....All the very best to you Carol..............................Mick.
