It's funny how fast those turtles moved, by the time I stopped the car there were only these few left on the log. Just a second before the log was loaded with probably a dozen or so.
The turtles around here must be supersonic, because I don't even get a chance to see one at a time let alone a dozen. An interesting capture, Carol. Nice composition and lovely colours.
I think you misinterpreted what you were seeing. This is a shot of a turtle bus in Turtleonia. The log was simply parked while the turtles disembarked. If you had just waited another minute, you would have had a full busload of turtles again before the log proceeded downstream.
Nice colors and an interesting shot. In California at this time of year, there is no fresh water except in bottles and occasionally in the kitchen faucet if you live in town; so there are no turtle busses. Glad I got to see the Iowa version.
That happens a lot. You set up for a shot and before you can blink it changes dramatically. Wish we could get from place to place so cheaply as these turtles. Still a fine image, Carol.
Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun
Nothing is finer to a turtle then sitting on a log and taking in the sun. They all look sleepy and slow moving, but they must keep one eye open any movement they are off the log in a dash...nice work Carol!
