This is part of another photo which I took and enlarged until I got it so big that it was so out of focus that I was going to get rid of it, but then found the Ink Sketch effect in one of the programs and applied that. I really did mess it up, but I thought it kind of humorous so I'll pass it along.

Hi, Carol....

I like the vignetting and the "Ink Sketch" effect, but I see what you mean. I rarely can crop a shot down too much without the shot becoming a giant blur of pixels.

I guess the chicken way was either very shy or is in the witness protection program and didn't want her picture plastered all over the Internet.

I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

Nice try, Carol, I love it. She is not looking, but you were looking and made something really interesting.

Another thing you can do to a shot that is not in perfect focus, or has some noise in it, is to layer in a texture. I love textured images. They usually look so artistic, to me. This may not be perfect, you had the right idea here. That shows you have a good imagination. Well done, Carol.

It's the perfect accompaniment to Rob's headless swan from two days ago. lol So everyone is beginning to lose their heads around here. I think some did before they even came. lol Maybe if you didn't crop as much, Carol, the resolution wouldn't be a problem. One way around this problem is to crop in the camera as you are viewing the scene. Back up or move forward until only that part that you want your viewers to see is in the frame. Don't get the right shot? Take another and another until you do. I have experienced times where you have a great shot and no matter what you do, it just doesn't process the way you'd like so you use one of those 'effects' and it comes out as a really fine art work. Bravo for not giving up!

Well Carol if you're not looking then I'm not looking either...though it makes it slightly harder to leave a comment. But by deciphering the comments above mine I can only assume you visited a meat packing plant to get this shot of a beheaded chicken running around much like a chicken with its head cut off is expected to. Now the callous indifference of its mate just standing there only shows just how bird-brained these creatures are. Does it not realize it is next in line?
Good work recovering the crop, Carol. Nice post work in your photo.
