I love shot of barns through tree branches! And these branches are great looking with the snow on them. The barn is gorgeous, too. I like the vignetting you used here. Excellent work all the way around, Carol!
I'm not sure about the border, but I am about the colour. The black adds too much dark when you already have dark trees all around. Maybe a semi-transparent white will also reduce the somewhat overpowering tree presence, and still increase concentration on the barn.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
Beautiful composition. I think looking through the branches adds to the charm of this photo. The dark edging is interesting but somehow the strong horizontal line of the snowy horizon seems to conflict with it. The darkened border at top seems to be trying to swallow the dark sky above the snow without decisive results. It is definitely a grand old barn.
I'm not a fan of photographic borders of any kind; so you get one strike for that. I love the color and presentation of the barn. The snow really looks great in this shot although I'm the first to admit that I don't miss the snow one iota. I'm not sure if that's noise or the result of an artistic setting, but some of the background almost looks like white stucco.
