I'll consider it a flower. Consideration has now ended because this is a Sempervivum, a succulent that thrives in my garden. They are pretty though; so I'll consider it a flower again. I also noticed that this one is suffering the same fate as mine. If I'm not mistaken, those white blotches in the center are the cottony residue of mealy bugs.
This is a well focused shot that even shows the little hair-like follicles on the edges of the plant leaves. These guys love direct sunlight which is what brings out the red edges. Great color, nice detail, excellent DoF.
I don't remember the name of the plant but it does have a flower that comes of a long thin stem.Great detail and colours in this subject and very artistic looking photo too.
