Can someone let me know if this is something I could put in the negative space contest. This pampas grass is so plentiful around here right now and so beautiful, but hard to get a shot of as the wind makes it next to impossible to get a good capture.
The subject matter and colour palette within frame is more than visually appealing.
Composition is good good, too. As I like the horizontal division of sky, then, that of the grasses.
Insofar as a possible entry for the "Negative Space II" contest is concerned?
In my humble opinion.. as good good as this shot is.. I don't think it quite fits the category.
Have to think.. more minimalist.. like this photo. Wherein the area around the main subject only serves to place more emphasis or focus.
Doesn't add more.. in terms of visual distractions, nor, does it take away from your main subject.
Or..
The other side of the negative space creative coin.. would be an image like this one.
Where the (negative) space in between the buildings and that of the connecting structure.. forms some interesting shapes that draw your eye. As opposed to the buildings themselves.
The artist; Bruno Mazzetti.. has quite a few good good examples in their galleries.
(This one is probably the clearest example of negative space.)
And if you visit this page.. and click on the image's name/artist.. some of the links will take you to the galleries of that artist, where you can see some more examples of 'negative space' imagery'.
Or, in the case of a Flikr member.. click on their name to view some more in their Flikr galleries.. like that of brancolina.
That said, and reiterating..
Good good shot. Makes for a nice wallpaper/desktop.
And, but of course.. thanks for sharing this one with us.
