Have I got a tip for you!

Ahem..

I don't mean to start off with the caveats stuff, but, it was the first thing that came to mind for an otherwise well-manipulated and presented image, Carol.

Right, so.. have a read..

Digital Photography School | "How to Understand the Curves Tool in Photoshop"

(Note: There is a popup that will appear, simply click "No thanks" to continue on to the article.)

In particular, the section titled; "Sectioning your photo with Curves Adjustment layers".

"So far you've been using Curves on the entire image. Not all areas in a photo may need the same work, but it's easy for you to select different areas to work on."

What I am referencing, with directing your attention to this section, is that of the barn's roof, the side pieces and doors.

I can see some more detail that could be brought out by making a selection of the roof (side pieces and doors) and employing a Curves Adjustment Layer to that selection. And in turn, knock down the.. and this sounds harsher than it is meant to be, but, to illustrate the point.. in your face whiteness of the roof, the side pieces and doors.

It's just my humble opinion that you could bring out more detail, lowering the 'brightness' and still have that wonderful colour contrast of the red, white and blacks.

Better balance, simply put, and as a result of making some changes through the above.

And creative food for thought, is all.

That said..

Nice work. :o)

And.. but, of course.. thanks for sharing this one with us.

I am such a fan of your work! :)

I love the scratched overlay effect. It reminds me of a "rubbing". And I really like your choice of a deeper red for the barn and a peek of its foundation brick stonework.

Very nicely done!

Your selective coloring and presentation have enhanced the mood that it already has exuded in its initial stage, Carol.

Well done again, my friend!

Your editing gives this cheerful barn a chilly wintery look which is most appealing.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
