I use to drive between Rochester and Red Wing Minn. daily and counted 21 old homes with one Gothic style window in the upper level of those homes. This is one I've kept track of through the years. Always wondered why they were just in and around that area of the state. Guess I'll try and research that one of these days. I always found them unique.

The vignetting pulls the eye to that beautiful arched window.

Yes, great find! So much of the great architecture and wood working are rotting away as the years go by, so it's important to document and photograph when possible.

I took that drive one time a few years ago Carol. I took one route going up and a different one coming back. Such beautiful country.
It looks like Snoopy wants to go outside to play.

Very good job on the presentation, and I see snoopy, and great pumpkin. It would be interesting to find out the rest of the story. tigs=^..^=

---Always wondered why they were just in and around that area of the state---

Intriguing question, Carol. I can't provide you with an answer, but I don't exclude that the imported habits and influences of immigrants from Europe (mainly from Germany and Scandinavian countries), have influenced this.

Very fine capture with a perfect presentation/vignetting!

The vignetting has brought the window into focus nicely. Nice presentation.

A lovely gothic style window and I love the quirky humour of Snoopy looking out at us :)

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
