Carol, I don't know what type of flower that is - however, they are lovely, have unique shaped petals and are a wonderful color - Great Find On the Road!!!!!!!!!!
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
Carol, it's pretty hard to determine this flower by a single photograph, because there are flowers with almost the same appearance. To me however it could be a Duranta erecta commonly named 'golden dewdrop', 'pigeon berry', and 'skyflower'. I'm not right if these aren't shrub flowers. A very fine photograph however!
If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!

Love the color on these Carol - my guess is a type of larkspur especially from the look of the buds. I see wild larkspur along the roads where I now live.
