Love this little barn, don't know what the word UFF Da means, but it must be Norwegian. Just has to be because we live in that part of the state. I'm setting at the computer looking out and it's coming down in sheets, it is not rain, but leaves, can't believe it.

Carol, if the text on the barn is Norwegian, than it means: "Oops then."
This doesn't remove the question of what is meant by this text. I think only the farmer can tell us what he intends to express.

The family I married into is Norwegian and Dutch, and every time we get together, every one of this large family uses that *Uff Da** expression, ranging in meaning from *Oh, I am so tired!* to *Poo-poo happens*, to *I cannot believe I ate the whole thing!*. It is a daily expression, printed on at least one of their sweatshirts, sev and is on the mug from which they drink their cocoa. As odd as it is they embrace it fully, happily sharing it amongst each other as though it was a secret fraternity handshake, and often used as a joke. As ubiquitous as the classic Norwegian joke is, however, the one person who tells me the majority of them is my brother-in-law, 100 percent Norwegian who, like me, married into a family of these jokers. As to your photo, the treatment is classic Carol, pleasing as ever, and the subject is a type of dairy barn I have not seen before. The long row of windows exist in these barns to give both the cow and her milking hand plenty of light to see by, but either these are placed higher near the roofline or that line is lower than normal. Also, I am more used to seeing dairy barns with curved and arched roofs, but I assume that is due to different barn style s being built in our respective states. For me, this one is refreshingly different.
