First thought that popped into me pea brain?

B & W conversion. Would change the feel and mood for one. And perhaps, add some additional value ... visually ... in terms of making the markers pop from the setting some more.

And then, since I am full of ... erhm, ideas? (:oP) Read on ...

You composed this one well, nicely balanced. However, forging ahead ... a suggestion:

Get closer.

Again, on the note of kicking up the evocativeness of the photo (the fallen limbs (placed, maybe?) lying up against the one grave marker provided the impetus on this note).

You most certainly captured the lay of the land and the environment of the cemetery ... and the more I take this one in ... the more it appeals to me. (Being frank here.)

Some nice layering happening within frame on the horizontal(s).

Good good colour. Nice detail and clarity. Well exposed. Even got some natural framing coming into the picture to provide some more context.

Brought me in for a closer look, so ... once again, mission accomplished.

:o)

Thanks for sharing this one with us, Steven.

I like scenes like this and I am always on the lookout for such places. It is unbelievable how many are hid in the woods. Good work.

It's a great composition with the branches at the top providing a frame, a wealth of foreground detail, interesting lighting, and, of course, a poignant history.

Great find and colours in this image Steven, so sad that they let it get so run down. Those are some really old headstones in the 1800's, such history behind this

It's somehow sad that it not being taken care of, but in all it's raggedness, it really becomes something to look at, good shot!
