Temperatures in Temecula have been in the triple digits (Fahrenheit) for the last couple of weeks, so instead of going to the beach to cool down I went to the desert where it's even hotter. (don't ask me why, I have no idea what I was thinking) It was at least 120F (49C), so hot that I almost left my tripod behind because it was too hot to pick up!!!!!!!!! I just downloaded Adobe lightroom beta and this is the 1st raw image that I processed with it. I must say that I'm really impressed with this software. It gives you an amazing amount of options to use for converting raw images.

This picture burns me just looking at it! LOL I can't even imagine how you'd breathe at 120F, much less take a picture! Now that's commitment. I love the colors, and that unique tree/plant. Good post!

I can feel the heat so get out before the fire starts. It's a great capture of the browns of the desert and against that beautiful blue sky they look even better. Very nice job. Anita

The heat is in the air. Can imaging how hot while u were doing that shoot. Sweat is what I really dont like when doing shots under the hot sun.

I'm sure glad you made me aware of this software. I will be getting a new camers and I will be learning to shoot in raw. This is absolutely gorgeous. How long does it take to process a picture like this from the time it comes out of the camera until ready to post? Can you answer that in a PM? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat work.

I agree with Pat, this is an amazing image. It certainly piqs my interest in the use of raw instead of jpg.

You certainly will be shooting in RAW now. I've read what you can do with shots captured in this save format. JPG compresses and fills in the gaps with what it thinks the picture should look like and in only 8-bit. Where in RAW software you can work in 16-bit. The difference can be dramatic. I want to move up to a camera that shoots in both formats. The quality does matter. That sounds like to hot a place for me to be in. Nice picture.

The light is fantastic, but somehow you lost a bit of texture here.
But what landscape, it will melt the soles of your shoes!

I'm a fan of North County SD, and of the inland empire of Temecula and Borego. I know it gets a tad hot from time to time, but what's little discomfiture for such inherent beauty

No surfin' here, Chip! Unless you surf on heatwaves... Beautiful photograph. You've done a great job with the exposure and color saturation. Rich textures and color throughout the frame. The stark, bare bush or tree subject with it's delicate highlights is a great starting point that leads you to explore the valley and then return. 10++++ anne :-)

Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)

I am still extremely busy with projects but hopefully things should slow down by the end of the summer. Please know that I appreciate you all and will stop by and visit your images as often as I can. My best to all my friends. Sincerely, Carrie
