I have heard of black-eyed peas but never black-eyed red berries. Get the visine out. Great photo Susan. So nice and clear.

In Australia the aboriginal people of north Queensland call them the Gidee Gidee seed, they were used as traditional medicine for women who had unwanted pregnancy, but there were certain ones you could only use, Besides that they are highly toxic. They were also used to make jewelry, they were boiled until soft then pierced with a needle or wire...A little history there for ya..lol...That certainly is a beautiful picture!
