This is absolutely lovely! Such great shadows of the thatched roof..and the potter and vines are wonderful! I love that you chose the dark sepia tone..and the framing is perfect! A very very artistic photo!! High marks from me!!...bravo.............verena
I love the lattice and vine shadows Tracy! The root shadows are rather cool looking as they rise out of the gorund and wind their way around the trees! The sepia tones work really good here. I also like the fact that there is plenty of room for my icons and I dont' lose any picture! I feel like I am in the gardens. Good depth to this capture. Well done. This is going into my favorites folder on my harddrive as well as into my caedes.net scrrensaver slideshow folder. Thanks :~!)
Wow! While I was going through the voting booth today, this image jumped right off the screen. The shadows and geometric shapes really make an impact, and th echoice of a center gives the viewer a good focal point - the bush between the columns. The twisting vine on the left makes an excellent framing element too.
I'm sure a dozen other people passed that way trying to find a place to take a snapshot in front of a statue or fountain. You stopped and found the structure and light you caught here. I love the strong supports of wisteria in winter and the empty pots and light on the walk. Seeing in color is easy, thinking it through to B/W is an art.
This image caught my eye because it was offset to the right...when I enlarged it I was struck with a feeling of an ancient garden, somewhere in the Mediterranean, possibly Pompeii before it was buried under hot ash and lava. You can almost smell the salty sea air mixed with the earthy, and feel the warm breezes. An antediluvian moment....caught in time. A stunning work! Thank you for sharing!
Nevermind how good the picture is, I really like the way the picture is framed. Very clean and simple. I have many vertical pictures that now have a new hope!
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill
