The beauty of the trees, the softness of the air, the fragrance of the grass, speaks to me. The summit of the mountain, the thunder of the sky, speaks to me. The faintness of the stars, the trail of the sun, the strength of fire, and the life that never goes away, they speak to me. And my heart soars. -   Chief Dan George

I love the Chief Dan George quote...it sets the mood for the viewer to approach this "Last Days of Summer" offering. I still see the unique blue of a summer sky, the dark greens framing and setting an enclosure for the grasses and goldenrod. The outside frame you've chosen blends in nicely, but creates colors that pulls this all together. The depth of field is evident as we step through the ragweed to the summac to the wild overgrowth of grasses in the field. The clarity is nice and it treats us all to a scrumptious view of the last days of summer...thank you for this post, Terry :)PJ

Chief Dan George was quite a man and I love that you included this quote of his. (Wasn't he from Vancouver?) It's perfect for your photo, Terry. I can smell those sweet grasses now. This is very well done! - Patty

I see a blend of summer and fall in this Terry. A beautiful merger that summer will softly give in to and let fall have its way. Excellent capture and the perfect quote for this.

What a pretty scene. It sounds so final, the last days of summer. :) I like the goldenrod in the foreground and the grouping of trees. I like the quote from Chief Dan. He was a wise man from the sound of his words. Thanks for quoting him.

Last days of summer....you got that right. This is uniquly pretty in that it is not a grand splash of color but still has an appealing sunny brightness to it. It makes my spirit soar when I view it and that is what a good photo is suppose to do. Well done.

Lovely picture for a desktop ... or my living room wall for that matter. Very well composed. You've taken what many might overlook as "hum drum" and turned into a work of art. Love the subdued yet facinating sprinkling of gold up front. The quote in your commentary is superb ... Excellent posting Terry ... Kudos galore!
