These 2 bridges span the St. Clair River just before it expands into Lake Huron, and connect Sarnia Ontario to Port Huron Michigan. Transport trucks often backed up for hours, extend for miles on the Canadian side on some days. When the second bridge was built several years ago, it was interesting to watch because each end was built and extended to meet in the middle. Good thing these planners in both countries got an A in math classes.

Wonderful scene. I really like the inclusion of the flowers in the forefront. Great lines and angles too. I never had occassion to cross over this place to get in or out of Canada but I can guarantee you, I know what it's like to wait in line for hours to get into Canada. Very nice post.

What a lovely scene and great capture of this terrific expanse. The flowers in the foreground sure make it a lovely scene and not just all bridge. Excellent post Terry, very well done.

The engeneers get an A in math, you get an A in composition. It all works out.

I like the angle and the rose bush in front. I like the lines of the bridge and really the entire composition and of course, it is quite clear. Great shot, Terry.

A very good photo. the neat, totaly quiet foreground, against the dynamic setting of the top half of the image. The total has become a image that i very much like.
If it came along in the voting boot, a 10/10 is certain.
Regarding building from both ends, they use laser guidance, to correct and check their calculations. It has great bennefits to start at two ends, they even do it with large tunnel projects, and bang, smack in the middle they meet and shake hands in the middle of the mountain. Construction wise, it is simpler to build from both ends, seeing all supplies and material is constantly the same, only mirrored. Besides this, they use two teams, one at one end, and the other team on the other, it helps to create a competitive spirit, wich usualy keeps the building process on scedual.
They use this system not for horizontal builds only, vertical as well, think of the WTC, and the Patronas Towers in Malaysia.
Thanks for this beautifull image Terry.

Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand. ~Margery Williams The Velveteen Rabbit~
