How lovely it is when unexpected blessings come into my life to cheer me up and put a smile into my heart. Help me to pass them on, dear Lord. Fay Angus
Such a stately place..if they were among the first temples, I can see why they might have been chosen. I like the idea of a pine stand and the creation of a composition with them as the focal point. Your perspective is different from the one I had in mind to do and this viewpoint is a perfect way to capture what you've stated in your title. For one thing we are looking up the incline toward them and that sets the mood for the vision they create...they seem larger than life and indeed as a temple that's exactly what they would have to portray. So as we begin to ascend to the area with the soaring columns created by the looming pines, we can appreciate even what appears to be a dead tree to the left along the way. The clarity here is good as is evidenced by the shadow that that tree casts on the ground as we toil ever closer, and casting our eyes to the left with the tree dwarfed by the pines and complimented by the cornfield that lies in the background supporting the differing blues from the bottom to the top in the sky. I can hear the corn leaves rustle in a natural musical tribute as I hesitate just outside, smelling the dried needles on the floor, gazing into the cool interior of the stand. Composition, DOF....these elements are all contained in the above description, or I would never have been able to convey to you how I felt as I drank this beauty in. As an aside as to composition, the first thing I thought when I saw the tree to the left was "cloning out tool", but then it became such a hallmark of stark contrast, I couldn't imagine this image without it..well done :)PJ
Well, I counted about thirty and had to stop. There is a variety of trees in the shot that adds interest to the monotony of so many pines. Then there is the repetition of that in the many stalks of corn in the field. Very thoughtfully composed shot, Terry.
What terrific composition, Terry. Love the vantage point you shot from. The trees look exactly like a temple - wonderful blend-in quote! And that dead tree in the foreground makes an interesting contrast. Very nice!
Can't always give individual thanks but I am so appreciative of everyone's comments and input. I truly enjoy seeing all of your posts and am always happy to see you at My Gallery. Thanks, Anita
The title says it all. We have the living among the dead and the dead is making a last stand. Lovely grove of trees. I can just feel the cool of the leaves. Well done.

Ah, the elderly tree in the foreground vs. the man planted rows of evergreens beyond. I'm not sure which is more majestic--the one who survived on his own or the ones who were nurtured into be-ing...
Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.
