This is the South Tower of Tutbury castle. You entered this part through a large wooden door and went down stone steps into what used to look like a big room at one time, but was very muddy the day I went there. The reason being was that there was no roof, and when you look up, this image is what you see! It had been a grey day as you could see from my last posting of Tutbury castle, but just at that moment a piece of blue sky appeared which I thought was just in time for this photograph!

It's amazing how much clouds in the sky add to a shot. You waited for just the right moment for this one. I like the angle at which you took this picture. I don't get as dizzy as I do when the pictures are from the top looking down. LOL.

I love historic places. To think Mary walked the halls of this castle. To me it is amazing. I get similar thoughts of historical importance when I am walking in my forests, alone. I wonder is this what it was like when no one was here, or when only the Indians made it their home, or when early settlers came and cleared the land for their crops. Thank you Ann for re-acquainting me with this thought. It is one I love to ponder.

No roof, nevermind, the blue of the sky is more beautiful. Thanks for sharing this castle inside.
