Peaceful Reflections

Took this earlier this year in Spring just as the trees were starting to show their new growth. This was taken by the River Trent at Swarkestone, South Derbyshire. You can also see a Pedestal to left of the photo which was used by the Home Guard in the 2nd world war which was guarding the Swarkestone bridge just out of sight to the right of the photo. These can be seen still scattered throughout the countryside.

Those are some really great reflections, Ann. The whole scene is very good. I like that little building behind the tree and the fence going down the slight hill. Excellent colors, too.

It IS indeed a very serene, peaceful scene! It's a lovely shot Ann. Only, the sky is a bit washed out. It has to do with exposure (likely on "Auto" when you shot it). I have the same problem with my shots and I'm working on resolving it: the trick is to set the exposure on manual, or else, "lock it" while pointing the camera at a desirable spot (in this case, a "lighter" place/scene) and then shoot. But as I said, I myself am just learning and working on it and certainly can't be the best person to give you advice on that!

What a lovely pastoral scene! You have captured it so very well. I really like the reflections, the detail, and your compostition. I even like the house off in the distance!

The fresh greens of spring really stand out. Good composition. Serene landscape.
