I really like the appearance of the foxglove flower, but I find it very difficult to photograph. I like the brick as a background because there's nothing else green behind it to confuse the issue.
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
They attracted you to them because they see you as the queen bee. Your brother has a lovely garden and you are lucky to have it as your model. A beautiful picture of these foxgloves. By the way, I slipped and fell in the mud today as I was walking along the river and I thought of you immediately. I should have had my wellies (spelling?) on!! LOL.
Marvelous pic Ann! Also, I must thank you for another reason: since my med school years, I knew that "digitalis" (a heart medication used both for cardiac dysrhythmias and congestive heart failure, with a very narrow therapeutic index) is extracted from foxgloves. However, somehow I had never seen even a picture of a foxglove! Now I have, thanks to your lovely pic! BTW, the story of the discovery of foxglove/digitalis as a cardiac medication is very interesting; I'll tell you if you're interested!
I have had them in my garden for years until my kids started to walk around. Then I removed them for they are extremely poisoneous!
During my recent holidays I saw thousands of them in the Black Forest and Alsace. Beautiful!
One lucky wall to have flowers like that.. they are beautiful! And you've captured the colours great.. and the clarity on it is perfect.. lovely framing too
Pure foxglove, all the time!
