This is an entrance to a walled garden in Calke Abbey. It reminds me of the Secret Garden. It was really a lovely oasis inside the walls of this beautiful garden. So with this photo just giving you a peep through the open gate!

Another beautiful image. It really does capture the magic of a 'secret garden'. A lovely idea to use the doorway as a frame. I find that places such as Abbeys and Priorys have such an air of peace and serenity, and you have brought this to life...thanks for sharing...Jacquie

We have a walled garden at Royden Park on the Wirral and that's exactly how I feel about it. once inside you could be miles away from the outside world. Bliss!! Great shot Ann, you make me want to go in.

Your exposure is perfect, giving good detail on the ivy covered brick gateway and the lovely garden. I know I want to walk though the gate with you.

Q. Anne, you captured the "Secret Garden" so very well, "The sun was shining inside the four walls and the high arch of blue sky over this particular piece of Misselthwaite seemed even more brilliant and soft than it was over the moor. The robin flew down from his tree-top and hopped about or flew after her from one bush to another. He chirped a good deal and had a very busy air, as if he were showing her things. Everything was strange and silent, and she seemed to be hundreds of miles away from anyone, but somehow she did not feel lonely at all."

My wife entered the room just as I loaded this pic up; her comment (not even knowing whose shot it is): "WOW! What a picture! It's like the gate to Paradise!!". Precisely my sentiment, Ann! This is a fabulous image with superb composition, colors and clarity! Fav'ed!
