Found these in the grounds of Calke Abbey last summer. Not sure what type of fir cone this is, but it looked different to the normal type I usually see and thought it an interesting subject. Hope you like it too.
Ah, I recognise that. Just a few days ago we had to have a tree the same as this, felled. It was 32 years old and I cried as it went. It was encroaching on the power lines.
It is a cedar.The cut wood smells wonderful and looking at this fine picture makes me think of it - and my deceased tree :)
