This Mallard looked almost frozen to the spot on this iced-over pond.

I have meet many people in life who say they would do something only to get cold feet at the last minute. So, I guess there is no reason not to believe a duck could not also get cold feet. Come to think of it, and now I date myself, when I was in college, a popular drink was Cold Duck. I never knew how they made that wine, but I bet if you stay near this freezing bird a little longer, you will, unfortunately, hear it whine.

Q-Ann, the capture, though well done, well focussed, and in general wonderful, was an easy capture considering that the bird was immobile and incapable of doing anything other than to stand there and pose for all passerbys.

Same thing came to my mind, Cold Duck. Fun and surreal image. At least for me. He's truly walking on water. Wonderful.

A great shot Ann, If his feet are frozen to the ice maybe you can thaw him out just in time for dinner. Good post

So precious. The ducks on our neighbor's pond across the road have to deal with the same situatian. Great photo.

Poor wiccle duckie - it looks a bit bewildered - ice is not for swimming.
A good shot Ann, I really like it.
I chuckled at John's comment about Cold Duck wine - dates me also - and I remember it being disgusting stuff - and we thought we were oh so sophisticated lol

That's funny. It DOES look frozen. I love this shot with the snow and ice. The contrast is super, as well as everything else. Nice work.

Poor duckie, he could use a pair of boots to keep his feet warm. A very good shot with great clarity.

It's a wonderful trick of the photograph that makes his feet look frozen into the ice (no wonder he looks fed-up!).
