I dont know what this flower is called, but thought it really stood out against the lime green foliage in the back ground. Hope you like, and thank you in advance for your comments.
If a roadside plant, it resembles purple loosestrife. If not, then I have no idea. lol It is pretty against the lime green as you said, Ann. Nice angle on the spire too.
Think Cyndi is right. It might be one of the species of the lythraceae family. In my country it's called a 'kattestaart' (cat tail). You 'll get more information after checking-out this link.
