This is the Radcliffe Camera in Oxford which is part of the University. It was built by James Gibbs between 1737-1749 with money bequeathed by John Radcliffe, the famous physician. It was originally built to house a library endowed by Radcliffe. Now it has two reading rooms mainly used by undergraduates. Beneath the lawn to the North of the building is an underground book-store built in 1912. A short distance away is the Old Library and is connected by a subway connecting the Camera to the Library. But I think the history of the building was furthest away for the two lovers sitting in one of its arches! ha ha I have noticed that when this is opened to full page, it cuts off the lovers. You can see the whole capture by choosing the lowest size beneath this image. Thanking you in advance for any comments.
I really like the picture, but the young couple made it for me. Ah, to be young and in love with an eternity ahead of you. So special.
