This morning I visited a town called Ilkeston in Derbyshire and while there I saw this traffic island. I couldnt resist taking this photo of these gardens created to look like the Union Jack. It is our Queens 60th Jubilee this year, so this is I thought a lovely way of marking the occason.

People with good gardening craftmanship have done this perfectly, Ann. Good marking the occasion of your Queen Elizabeth's 60th Jubilee indeed.

Thanks for this fine post.

Regards, Cornelius.

Truly a delight, Ann. I like your flag more than ours. Yours has more blue in it.

Some people have Gurus, I have my camera. Through the cam lenses I have learnt to deeply perceive life, not only to see, but to look at all expressions of nature, becoming able to read the poetry of the flowers, receiving the embrace of the trees and flying above the clouds without wings! - Susie Sun

Very patriotic gardens Ann.
I am sure the whole 'islands' of the UK have been awash with red white & blue this year.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
