I visited Scotland a couple of weeks ago and experienced a ride in a canal barge on the Falkirk Wheel. For those of you not heard of this before, it is a 21st Century piece of engineering that can lift one boat up out of the basin serving the Forth & Clyde canal upto the Union Canal which is 25 metres above. This particular view is the scene coming back into the top of the wheel ready to go back down. I loved the arches and also the waters end making it look like we were sailing off a waterfall. A fantastic experience if you ever get to visit Scotland. Thank you in advance for any comments

A beautiful bit of work on this, Ann. Saw a bit of a documentary when it was being built.

Ann, this is so cool! I have not heard of it before. I really like the composition, and the cloudy sky, and how the water looks inside the wheel. =^..^=tigs

Nice capture and looks like it could go in the architecture bin as well as the water shot because it so unique.

Killer shot, Ann.

Love the perspective and how you composed your image here. And the subject matter is fascinating and more so, quite beautiful to my eyes.

If I may be bold.. lose the vignetting. Or, lessen it.

Your photo is strong enough on photographic and creative notes to stand on it's own.

Artistic licence?

Of course I can respect your creative choices. Just typing out loud in the above and sharing some thoughts, that's all.

Caveats?

Lil' bit of Chromatic Aberration.

(/\ Some techniques are discussed to mitigate it, as well as, what C.A. is and when/how does it occur. Google your image editing program and the term itself to find some more tutorials, ways to tackle it.. if and when, it shows up in your photos.)

In this instance, some 'green/cyan fringing'.

Still a very, very striking photo.

And one you should be proud to have displayed in your galleries.

Thanks for sharing this one with us. :o)
