nice drum set =) but the picture needs improvment. The only thing in forcus is the close part of the hithat. Everything else is out of focus. Maybe you could have got all the hithat in focus and leave the back blurred, or got all the snare and everything in focus and got the hithat blurred. Just a suggestion. mann i want a drums set....*sigh lol
I love the picture. The angle is great. It would be slightly better (in my opinion) if the headphones weren't there. Just lay the sticks on the snare and shoot from either side of the crash or by the ride. But it is a great picture.
I thought about using no headphones, but that is how I play, so its kinda my personal statment in the shot... As for the focus thing, I was just playing around and using several dif. depths of focus, kinda liked this one the most.
i love drums!!!!! i have a Tama Starclassic performer with 8 zildjians and a sweet double bass!!!!!!!!!!!!! nice pic btw, and sorry for rambling on.......lol
The lighting is a little dim and the picture a bit out of focus but... what am I saying! This picture is better than the ones that I usually take! Go girl drummers! Yay!
I'm going to have to agree with you on the focus here Michael. I really like the perspective of this shot and it's very easy to look at. I love drumming and hated to leave my set behind when I moved to college, but it's just me and my sticks now. This brings back memories though, thanks :)
I could have swore that I have commented on this image already.. ...oh well.. ...I really like the angle and how the Hi-hat and snare are placed. ..the color of the snare adds to the feel of the pic .. and I like how the headphones and sticks are on the snare, also adds to the feel ...at least for me. Also like the focus. *Styx* haha remember?

I just needed to comment again. I love this one so much...I tried taking pictures of my drums set like this and they didn't turn out so well. Great job; this is awesome!
Im a drummer since 25 years ago. I have to say that i like this a little out of focus image.
It looks kind of calm in a way. Next challenge maybe could be to catch the more intensive and pulsating aspects of drumming. Put the camera on Auto shot and play like hell, then the out of focus drum sticks hopefully gives a feeling of action and actually be a cool image.
U can probably find very cool angles and make very artistic images of your Drum kit.
Good luck!
