Leyden street is named after the Dutch medieval town of Leiden. The Dutch old Leiden however is flat as flat can be. Don't therefore know why the Plymouth settlers has chose this name for the street. Could be a kind of homesickness, ☺ . Wonderful image anyhow, Tom. Perfectly done again!

I used to attend college at New Paltz, and the residents claimed that their Huguenot Street in New Paltz was the oldest in the nation, but I think it might be a matter of pride, rather than fact! lol Nice one!
Very interesting reading Connie. The authentic part may be right with the stone structures they talked about that are still there. The original settlement was in the center of town here in the photo and a recreation called Plymouth plantation is a few miles down the road now. There was a fire long ago and all of the oldest original structures perished. Thank you for that link.
