This was taken out in a remote field and I assume it is a wildflower.

Beautiful little bloom, it might be chicory, we have them here closer to Fall. Nice capture.

Beautiful work on the wild flower. I'm detecting very slight noise in the background greens, but the clarity of the bloom is spectacular.

Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.

Lovely shade of blue and it appears to be bachelor's button.

I miss these! Chicory is a common wildflower up north, but not so much down here. A distinguishing characteristic is the serrated appearance of the petals. This is a terrific capture!

After reading THIS PAGE, think Connie is right, so it's a Cichorium intybus, ☺.
Thanks anyhow for both Kathy and Connie for their done effort to provide us for the proper 'solution'. Thanks for you as well, Tom, for providing us with this very fine Foofy Friday image!

Yes , it looks like chicory for sure , Connie gets the prize and Kathy the runner up. Thanks for the help everyone. The reading was interesting and it was old farm land that I took the photo in.
