I like the perspective, looking down. The Pilgrims put a lot of work into these snug cottages, and the area they chose is very lovely. I've seen other images of this plantation and, I have to say, this is better than any of them...I think because of the care that you took with composition and lighting. Well done!

The light is stunning, the contrasts, the colors, the textures with the rocks, and wood, and earth.... this is great. Favorite.

Tom, although it's a replica settlement, your very well composed image shows perfectly how it was about 4 centuries ago.
Perseverance was necessary to survive.
Very well done, my friend.

Excellent perspective that brings depth to the photograph of these wonderfully old buildings. I'm a fan of old wood, and those fences are amazing. Sorry that you have a California, cloudless sky that is mostly white; but what can you do?

Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

The sky was cloudless and too white I know Dorothy , it was 7am and the sun was just to the right. I snuck in and had to get out before the workers got there.
