This is a Spanish built replica , one of Ferdinand Magellan`s fleet set to sail around the world in 1519. I would have liked to get the full mast in the photo but could not due the position of the ship , poles and wires etc , Unless that is I swam out beside it and I was not up for that this morning. Taken in Plymouth ma.

Tom, on the one hand I like your fine photograph, but on the other hand I wonder why you didn't have chosen for the vertical format. Maybe that the quality of your composition than would have been reduced, but probably the full mast would have been seen in your picture.
I can't determine whether this was a possibility or not. However, it's up to you too which format you choose.

The decision was easy for me given the composition but I did think it may have been a poor decision. I would have had a sliver of this composition because I had to get very close to avoid the lights and lines all around. For me to leave out the top of the mast might just be wrong Cornelius , I understand.

It's a beautiful replica and a dip in the water does not sound like the best idea!:) tigs=^..^=
