Monster Jewel -- the treasure the monster doesn't want you to find! Photoshop play (CS5). The background is based on my Monster Landscape (Fractal Forge composite). A filter used to create the pattern is Pixel Bender's Kaleidoscope.

Beautiful wild design. Especially intrigued by the background and lighting. Saved.

(*stumbles onto Tootles' image page hopping on one foot..*)

/\ 'Cause the other one is where it is usually found. Ready?

Love the rich, dark colour palette. That filter renders some intriguing characteristics that I find quite appealing.

Nice work on the jewel as well.

Caveats?

How adept are you withe the pen tool?

As I can't seem to shake the idea of a setting (some metalwork) for the jewel itself. To literally and visually anchor and integrate it more so with the background.

(*removes foot*)

Nice work. As I am always pleasantly surprised, on a creative note, by the results you achieved having mixed various media. :o)
