I wish I was able to paint so well... This is, in fact a photograph taken outside a lakeside meditation center on my University campus. The place is very serene and I think the architecture is very interesting. Hope you enjoy...
Excellent work, really excellent! Which brush/filter/whatever did you use to get such a great effect? The title fits perfectly, by the way...this looks as if it should be hanging in an Art Gallery for sure! :)
Thanks Mary! The technique used here is a fairly straight-forward brush stroke effect. It just turns out that this picture lent itself well to it. I particularly liked the way the palm trees turned out.
Excellent technique, Josh. Good light and composition; choice of filter really makes the difference, too. The frame is perfect with the palette. Kudos.
I love the texture in this piece ! You are right about the palms... my favorite part of the composition is the spiky palm in the upper left corner. It really makes the picture come alive. It's a dramatic component and adds depth, dimension and mystery! I agree the architecture is unique. It looks perfect for meditation, contemplation, or just plain daydreaming. This is great work and definitely belongs on the "favorites" list. And not just mine, either ! What technique! I'm impressed~
