Beautiful sharpness and a great composition. Looks like you just lost a very small amount of highlight detail on the top of the head and shoulders. (If shot in RAW you still might be able to recover them.) Wonderful shot!
Toto, you've explained it many times that capturing a heron in Japan seems to be easier than else in the world because the herons in Japan are used to people. Notwithstanding this, it's a great post again. Excellent work! Thanks for sharing.

It looks like it is a lookout for a gang of criminal herons. LOL. Kidding aside, this is a great shot from that angle. Herons are amazing birds, and you have presented this one well.
I simply love this shot of the heron. Set against that blue sky and the green of the tree, this makes for a perfect shot. Fav'd and thanks for sharing!
