I always prefer 'Old' Town to new. There is more of a classic beauty in the architecture of buildings from before the last century even. I like this very much. Maybe these were official government buildings? The square reminds me of Poland too. A fine shot in sun and shade.

Looking at this picture again, i did notice the strange church tower. The lower part looks a lot like a sea light house, did you notice ? looooovely image and town by the way.
