An island fortress called Bourtzi, built centuries ago, across the seaside city of Nafplio, Greece. It is not connected to land but locals take you there on small fishing boats for a small fee. Hope you like it!
Nice photo, love the way you got it through the trees and the mountains in the background look great !! Well done and thanks for sharing :) 10 from in the vb
I don't think you could have composed this any better! The way the tree leaves frame the photo, and the mountains in the background - it's all so lovely. High marks from me!
This is a wonderful image and I like your detailed image description too. It's always good to know what we are looking at. I agree with the commentators above, this is really a wonderful composition, nicely framed by the green leafs in the foreground. The main subject, Bourtzi, stands out very well against the water and the mountain in the hazy background. Think it would be exciting to go there and visit this old fortress, I am always curious about places like these. Very good work from you, Maria, thumbs up !!!
Nice angle, I've been there during my trekking through Pelloponese and I tell ya, it's amazing. I love the whole country, I am probably going to Crete this summer. High marks on this one. I love that you includded the grenery.
Dear friend, for all Greeks Bourtzi has also a historical meaning since, in that place, Greeks prisoned other Greeks who they had been fight against Turkish barbarians and set us free! VERY NICE,almost excellent.
Hey Maria, when i saw the thumbnail first of this picture, it reminded me of Alcatraz, the prision island near San Francisco ;) Nice shot, very cool with the green below! Lik your style! ;)
Yeah, I like it. I was watching the Eurovision finals and they were showing in between artists video of Greece, this castle-on-water was one of the things shown.
Could not help it but think that if I owned that fortress I would set up massive parties on it, of course preserving the original state of the historical fortress.
A great pic, colors deserve high marks, the composition an honorary mention. Simply great! It's a postcard on it's own right.
Been there, and taken one photo just like this one! Yours however, has a great clarity, and I love how it's framed by those plants! Well done! (Eisai i proti ellinida pou vrisko sto site!)
