I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.

Just for the uninitiated like me, I had to go to the dictionary to remind myself of the story of Orpheus so I could try to understand the manip better..here it is for the edification of ppl like me :
"Greek Legend. a poet and musician, a son of Calliope, who followed his dead wife, Eurydice, to the underworld. By charming Hades, he obtained permission to lead her away, provided he did not look back at her until they returned to earth. But at the last moment he looked, and she was lost to him forever." Random House Unabridged Dictionary.
So I guess that must be Eurydice (summer) we see in Orpheus' eye, and his footprints leading him away while he loses his love forever...excellent manip, an outstanding representation :)PJ
WOW.... this is one brilliant piece of work. Very creative and unique. I love the image title and the story as well - thank you PJ for letting us know / remember exactly. This is one of the best and nicest manipulations I've seen for a while. High marks all the way and right into my favorites. Both thumbs up, my friend, for this masterpiece....
I really like this a LOT! The more I look at the more I see! Thanks PJ for the refresher on Orpheus. Hope I get a chance to vote on this one, it's a definite 10!!
I've come accross this picture a few times, but it wasn't until I looked at it full-screen until I realised how many levels there are to this. phasmid's comment shed even more light on it's meaning. I wish I could be half the artist you've shown yourself to be here. Keep them coming!
Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. - Churchill
