This was an interesting sailboat with lots of detail and weather. The tugboat in the background that is permanently run aground, is a sort of fixture of this inlet. It is a common focal point and character of the inlet, and the story behind it, from what I've heard is that this was an old boat that someone wanted to get rid of, and the guy hired to tow the boat away, ran it aground here (in an attempt to tow it away?) and then just disappeared. Your thoughts, comments, suggestions, something to keep in mind for next photo?

Exquisite composition on this one, though it feels like it would have been even more effective to use a wide angle shot. (the light on the rocks to the right as well as the boat asking for more space on the left.) Too bad about the orange bouy, which I find detracts from an otherwise haunting and gorgeous scene.

Also I don't know if it's possible for you to use a higher dpi, and maybe a tripod, it still seems a bit rough...?

I don't know that a higher dpi would change much. With this lighting, and the size of my sensor, I think this may be the extent of the image quality for my camera. Maybe I am missing something crucial, and maybe dpi would help, but the image quality seems pretty equivalent even before processing. Both this and the other two shots with boats were taken with a tripod.

I removed the bouy(s) and un-cropped the image so that the boat and rocks have more space. Look for it in my gallery.
