I am perplexed in judging the two onion photos. I like the textures, color, but am unable to differentiate if there is a better capture (of if this is a good capture at all actually). Thanks for your advice and critique.

It'a a toss up for me as to which i prefer. I like that the lighting is not as harsh in this one, and I think the textures show up better. tigs=^..^=

The subtle play of light and shadow in your previous one is very attractive, but in this one the textures have a higher priority (lol).
I prefer both ones Vicki, and don't like to tell which one is better. It's comparing apples with oranges to me!

Well between the 2 I really like this one best, lighting isn't as bright, this one you can see more detail and colour - yep this one is the best in my opinion

The overall play of lighting and shadows works better in this version. Nice details and textures in the photo.
