I like this very much, the solitude of the lone tree set against the landscape was a well spotted take. Not sure if you could have done a tad more sharpening on it or not. I like it my friend, your doing a good job. tigs=^..^=

Placing subject items like this tree off center allows the eye , mind , to move around in a photo more easily , you don`t get stuck on the tree per say. This photo works well for me nevertheless and emphasizes the sky and subtle colors in the field..Fine photo.
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

And to be clear, the end goal is not to replicate or simulate an HDR image.. more so to and reiterating.. open up the shadows some.

A nicely composed image and good capture of the scene, Vicki. I might have cropped the bottom quarter portion of the scene out. I agree with purmusic about the lighting/shadows adjustments that could be made to create a more dramatic scene.
