I like this very much, the solitude of the lone tree set against the landscape was a well spotted take. Not sure if you could have done a tad more sharpening on it or not. I like it my friend, your doing a good job. tigs=^..^=

Placing subject items like this tree off center allows the eye , mind , to move around in a photo more easily , you don`t get stuck on the tree per say. This photo works well for me nevertheless and emphasizes the sky and subtle colors in the field..Fine photo.

As a suggestion, and here I am not sure which image editing program/software you have at your disposal.. check out the following tutorial, time and opportunity permitting:
"Faking the HDR thing..."
I hope you don't mind, but, to give you an idea of what could be accomplished.. notably.. opening up the shadows some.. have a look:
"Still..... and serene......" - Shadows/Highlights Adjusted
And to be clear, the end goal is not to replicate or simulate an HDR image.. more so to and reiterating.. open up the shadows some.

Had your image here booknarked to come back and place some words, share some ideas and suggestions. It caught my eye when you uploaded it and here's I finally be.
It's a great addition to your galleries.

A nicely composed image and good capture of the scene, Vicki. I might have cropped the bottom quarter portion of the scene out. I agree with purmusic about the lighting/shadows adjustments that could be made to create a more dramatic scene.
