We had been hiking in a mountain in Mani, Greece, with about 30 friends. Had dinner in a taverna that had been previously used to process olive oil(food was amazing and we were very hungry) and upon viewing the ceiling, I thought it was a nice mixture of textures and light. Always appreciate comments and advise. Thanks.

Vicki, you certainly did get a nice mixture of textures and light. Did you try the lamb or did you go with trying their fresh seafood at this taverna. I bet it was good, whatever it was.

The rope wrapped around the beam raised my curiosity as to its purpose. It does not appear to support the beam so I wondered if it was cosmetic or, possibly, did they use it to hang tourists who tried to skip out on the bills? Lol.

I love the copper color of the beam/rope as it plays off of the golden/green of the wall and lights.

You got a nice and attractive shot here. I like how the lights brighten only a small area around the lamps. The textures are interesting and the wooden round beams especially the one with the rope around it give this a sense of mystery.

I think your keen eye spotted a superb take, and I have nothing to offer in advice, I think you handled this very well. Good lighting, and the textures are wonderful. tigs=^..^=

Both an artistic and intriguing composition, that can, even without a narrative, tell its story (depending on ones imagination), Vicki.
Very well seen and captured!

You spotted a fine composition Vicki. It is a very warm picture. I love the sheen on the rope and the warm light. Your narrative gives more character to the photo - I can imagine the voices beneath and the clatter of dishes and cutlery and of course the delicious smell of food (and olive oil) ! And corks popping - you see, I am almost there . . . .

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

This is my kind of photo...where lighting and textures go hand in hand. You have a good eye for spotting this.
