What a marvelous blue. Usually the eggs are deeper in the nest and cannot be seen when the nest is high in the tree as this one is. With a cold front coming through tonight the birds will have to sit on the nest constantly to keep the egg warm.

Precious capture of these Egrets and the egg. Perfect wildlife educational photo. Great focus and composition as well.

Well Coleen I see you've taken to climbing trees now have you. LOL.

Fine Pic and Post.
That's the Nest Needle Nose was in last year.
They had a chick there I named Little Greedy. Check out it's neck. It tried to swallow an entire fish and nearly choked to death.

Careful with that climbing are you'll be Gator Bait. LOL.

I swear I just commented on this. I must be losing it. Jambo should not say anything about me naming subjects in my shots. lol Great shot of the expectant couple. Hopefully the freeze won't get the egg. Good post Colleen.

Oh wow! You have captured such a wonderful scene. That egg is so precious and these two parents are so regal. A perfect composition and color! Very well done!

Oh my goodness!! I can't believe you actually were able to get photos of the eggs! Did you camp out there for months??!! What a joy for you to be able to share this with all of us. And I am sure someone may ask you to put this on a magazine. Have you tried to let a famous mag. know? heehee I am amazed the nest is so low, the EAgles here in Oregon make such HIGH nests, a person cannot ever see into the nest. And look at all that Spanish Moss...oh gosh, I am rambling, but I am loving this so much. Not only is this a MOST perfect photo, but for sure you are an outstanding photographer. What kind of camera are you using? Verena
