The Mississippi River is rising in southeast Louisiana and is rushing on its way to Lake Pontchartrain through the Bonnet Carre' Spillway. The levees that control the Mississippi River are not the same levees that broke after Katrina. That is altogether a different structure. The levees along the Great River Road were build when the Corps of Engineers knew what they were doing.

Fierce water flow and great clarity! What a strong capture, yet such a delicate touch with the flowers on the right! Beautiful! :)Ami

Reminds me of the After Hurricane pictures Colleen. I hope the levee holds this time. Good shot of the flowing water and the flowers. It does show that life goes on and some of the beauty returns.

Very beautiful shot of the tumbling water. I also love the touch of floral to the side.

A nice shot of Old Man River with even a handful of pretty flowers to help frame up the photo. Nice shot.
