The parent and the anhinga chicks are not happy that an older anhinga chick has come to visit. The parent gave it a good peck on the head and her beak is still dripping. Anhingas by nature are very mean birds but are very affectionate to their mate and their offspring. They are in a nest stolen from the egrets. They destroyed the egret eggs and confiscated the nest as their own. They're really snakes with beaks and feathers as you can tell from the looks of the little ones.

Such creepy looking kids there! Thank goodness they grow up to be great looking birds. Had no ideat that this type of bird was so aggressive. Great shot of the family though.

Look after the wildlife folks
Sounds like some little league baseball moms I know Colleen. They are rather snakelike in appearance. Great, clear shot and good information. Very nice post.
