This is one of two cypress luggers that the Historical Foundation was supposed to rescue and restore. One was taken out of the water six years ago and rests at a plantation in Destrehan, Louisiana. However, this little beauty now has seagrass and water hyacinths growing on its deck and I am afraid it will soon become part of the sea. There is a great history to it but no one seems to care. I have not posted in over a month so excuse me for not commenting on your photos. I was hospitalized for a week, then recuperating. Stay away from doctors, they'll kill you.

It does look a little late in the game for restoration on this one Colleen. It is a fine capture and lets the mind repair it however it wants. Your picture at least saved it for posterity.
Maybe the doctors are like Historical Foundations. They pick and choose their projects.
Hope you are recovering as you would like.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better...(doctor are just evil!)

Love the photo. It's a sad boat that is now part of the living environment around it. Great shot!!

It's sad to see these neglected wrecks Coleen, perhaps they'd be better of burnt as firewood, but then again there's a melancholy beauty to them undisturbed like this.

Nice shootin, good to have you back. (o:
