This cemetery in the middle of nowhere is known as the Lone Oak Cemetery of St. Gabriel, Louisiana. It is a fairly new cemetery, not even 10 years old, and is the resting place for prisoners of Elayn Hunt Correctional Institution who have no families to bury them. Under this peaceful, ancient live oak may they rest in peace. The oak is a registered member of the Live Oak Society and is named "Maryland Farms Oak". It's trunk has a girth of 26 feet and the tree spreads 140 feet.

This oak is very impressive, I think it has an age of
some hundred years. Fine shot! Mac

Long time no see Colleen. That is one great tree. It would stop me in my tracks. The late inmates are lucky to have such a glorious resting place. Wonderful post.

I love the way this works and I do not understand it, either. The longer your photo is posted and the less hits it gets, the lower the C-index goes.
