This one asks more questions than it answers. I wish there had been a history for you to read (and relate to us). I bet it was a streetcar at one time...I see electrical wires underneath it, so it could have been like those old-fashioned electrical powered city trolleys. I am admiring how you got your nice bright focus and light without blastout, and your straight-line perspective study is nicely balanced by the decorative arch in the orange-and-white building, the streetlamp in the back and the cannonballs (?) in the foreground.
i don't know exactly when the city trolley service was working, but i guess it was in the "golden age" of the city, when the gum was trailing brazilian economy....
unluckily we didn't spend much time in manaus 'cos as soon as we arrived we went to the jungle, and when we cam back from the jungle we just stayed a few hours 'cos we needed to take a plane to belem, so we had no time to ask.... :(
