I guess I was right . . . when I saw the thumbnail, I thought it looked like Colorado. I've lived here all my life. At first, I almost thought that this was taken in the San Luis Valley (southwestern end of the state). This is a good shot. Do I see elk standing on a hill on the right side of the picture?

yep it is an elk. Actually to the left there was a herd of them. Thanks for the comment :)
